Dietary patterns and cardiovascular biomarkers in adults with and without type 1 Diabetes mellitus

To identify dietary patterns and assess their association with the presence or absence of type 1 diabetes (T1D) biochemical markers cardiovascular risk. The study involved patients T1D healthy individuals (n=90). Patients were recruited at Endocrinology Diabetes Outpatient Clinic Hospital from Federal University Ceará (HUWC-UFC) adult State (UECE) UFC, in period 2016 to 2017. Dietary intake was obtained through 24-hour recalls. identified by principal component factor analysis, followed orthogonal varimax rotation. Poisson regression estimated prevalence ratios independent variables relation outcomes. Three main identified: prudent (poultry, fish, tame fruits, whole grains, vegetables, skimmed milk, a negative charge for beef, pork, cereal, legumes, milk), snack (sandwich fruit smoothie) western (industrialized drinks, sweets, snacks, foods rich fats). Association observed between pattern lower HDL cholesterol level; fasting blood glucose higher triglyceride level one level. There no T1D. not associated T1D, but have been related cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose.
